Summary

Mavera is an Islamic-themed word game. We collect only what is necessary to provide the game experience. We do not sell your personal data.

👋 1. Who We Are

Mavera is developed and operated by Sefa Veske (mavera.support@proton.me). This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.

📊 2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Data

When you play as a guest, we create an anonymous Firebase account. No name or email is collected.

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google display name and Google Account ID. Your email address is not stored in our database.

2.2 Game Data

We store your game progress in Firebase Firestore:

Display name and selected avatar
Language preference (Turkish, English, German)
Category progress, score, coins, and badges
Daily challenge history and streak
Friends list (Firebase UIDs and display names)
Multiplayer match history
Purchased in-game items

2.3 Analytics & Crash Reports

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the game is used and to fix crashes. These tools collect:

Device type, OS version, app version
Game events (e.g. category started, word guessed, purchase made)
Crash stack traces (no personal data included)

2.4 Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store your FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) device token to send daily challenge reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in your device Settings.

2.5 In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We use RevenueCat to verify purchases. RevenueCat receives a purchase receipt and anonymised purchase metadata. We do not store payment card details. See RevenueCat Privacy.

2.6 Advertising

The app may display rewarded video ads via Google AdMob (Android only). These are optional ads users choose to watch in exchange for in-game coins. AdMob may collect device identifiers and serve personalised or non-personalised ads depending on your region and consent settings. See Google Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings:

Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID
iOS: Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising

🎯 3. How We Use Your Data

To save and restore your game progress across devices
To show your score on the leaderboard (display name + score only)
To enable multiplayer and friend challenges
To send daily challenge push notifications (if enabled)
To process in-app purchases and restore them
To improve the app via anonymised analytics

🤝 4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above (Firebase/Google, RevenueCat, AdMob) who are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data protection law.

🗓️ 5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7). Anonymous accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be automatically deleted.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Mavera is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is described in this policy. Analytics and advertising are configured to comply with COPPA and GDPR-K requirements.

⚖️ 7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your region, you may have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Object to certain processing or withdraw consent

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1 (recommended): Open the app → Settings → scroll to Danger Zone → Delete Account. This removes all Firestore data and your Firebase Auth account immediately.

Option 2: Email mavera.support@proton.me with the subject "Data Request". We will respond within 30 days.

        What gets deleted: All cloud-stored game progress, scores, friends list, multiplayer history, coins, badges, avatar, purchased items, and your Firebase authentication account. Local cached data is cleared on next app launch after sign-out.
    

🔐 8. Security

All data is stored in Google Firebase, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted by Firestore and Realtime Database security rules that limit each user to their own records.

This privacy policy applies equally to all platforms.

✏️ 11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
